“Four Square Hat”

7 Aug 2005 - the big day of mine after struggling for 4 years in MMU. I supposed to be really excited on that day, but guess what… I have no feeling of excitement at all… the memory on the stage receiving the scroll from Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah is blank…… The memories on my minds bout convo are the troublesome process before it - First, changes of convo date from sat to sun (a week before convo), I pity the mmu staff - calling 200+ FCM student informing all of us about the changes. Then, gotta re-scheadule the plan - the plan of having a last night together with buddies is cancelled - Second, travelled all the way to Ayer Keroh - stucked in the traffic jam outside the hall for briefing - and end up leaving the hall after 20 mins, rushing to be a sweat - salted sardine squeezing in the queue for 2 hrs just to verify the smart card, collecting invitation card and robe. Getting to wear the "Four Square Hat" really not easy… four years of tears and sweats, rejections of ideas, redo-s, unbearable critics from lecs during crits, burning mid-night oil rushing for deadlines….but the greatest thing is get to know a bunch of buddies who we battle together to against the hard times. At the end, all our hard works get the repayment - we are all happily in our "Four Square Hat" - KAAA CHIAKKK……..

    Hey, CONGRATULATIONS on your graduation!

Totally understand what you meant as I went through the same thing. Graduation is nothing but a big hassle. And partly because graduation ceremony is 3-4 mths post our final semester. Therefore, the excitement is no longer there anymore.

I guess this only happens at local uni. Bet graduation ceremony overseas is much more fun and exciting.

Well, whatever it is, Congratulations once again and welcome to the working world!
